2011 Christmas on the River Boat Parade on Dog River, December 3

Dog River's annual Christmas on the River Boat Parade will be on Saturday, December 3, 2011.  This will be the 37th year for Mobile's oldest and largest boat parade.

This year's theme is Smiling on the River.

Cartegories large power boats, small power boats, sailboats, best overall, and most original.  If there are enough registrations, there will be commercial boat and pontoon boat categories. Prizes and plaques for boats placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the sail and power categories, and 1st in the most original and best overall categories. Awards will be presented immediately after the parade on the front deck of the Grand Mariner Restaurant.

Requirements for participating are simple.  Turn your imagination loose and put on plenty of lights and a lot of smiling faces with the ho-ho-ho spirit. Boats will be judged on originality, lights, and spirit.

Registration will be at the Grand Mariner Marina.  Call 251- 443-6300 for information. The $20 registration fee per boat includes two t-shirts.
